Bangla Road & Patong Clubs

The epicenter of Phuket nightlife. Loud, bright, and unforgettable.

Bangla Road

Strip

The beating heart of Phuket nightlife. This 400-meter pedestrian street in Patong transforms every evening around 7 PM into a neon-lit carnival of bars, clubs, live music, and street performers. It is loud, chaotic, and utterly unforgettable. Every type of nightlife venue lines both sides of the road, from casual beer bars and live music pubs to go-go bars and megaclubs. Even if you are not a party animal, walking through Bangla Road at night is a quintessential Phuket experience.

Illuzion

Megaclub

Phuket's largest nightclub, located right on Bangla Road. A massive multi-level venue with a world-class sound system, LED walls, pyrotechnics, and international DJs. The production values rival clubs in Bangkok, Bali, or Ibiza. The main room plays EDM and progressive house, while a second room offers hip-hop and R&B. Entry is typically free before midnight, 500-1,000 THB after.

Tiger Disco

Club

A Bangla Road institution known for its central location, open-air dance floors, and accessible vibe. Tiger has been a Patong landmark for years and draws a mixed crowd of tourists who want to dance without the megaclub intensity. Multiple bars surround a large dance area. Drinks are reasonably priced by Bangla Road standards.

KamalaBeach Club

Cafe del Mar

The world-famous Ibiza-born beach club chain has a stunning outpost on Kamala Beach. A massive infinity pool overlooking the Andaman Sea, premium cocktails, international DJ sets, and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine create the ultimate day-to-night beach experience. Sunday sessions are legendary. Expect to pay resort-level prices but the setting is truly world-class.

One of Phuket's original beach clubs, Catch sits on the soft sand of Bangtao Beach with a relaxed, stylish atmosphere. It combines a beachfront restaurant with a lounge area and DJ booth. Rooftop & Sunset Bars

Elevated drinking with views that make the cocktail prices worthwhile.

Baba Nest

Nai HarnRooftop Bar

Widely considered the best rooftop bar in Thailand, Baba Nest sits atop Sri Panwa resort on Cape Panwa with 360-degree panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, Chalong Bay, and the surrounding islands. The circular rooftop terrace is intimate (only about 30 seats), so reservation is essential. Sunset here is a life-altering experience. Cocktails run 400-600 THB and are worth every baht.

KEE Sky Lounge

PatongRooftop Bar

Perched atop the KEE Resort in Patong, this rooftop bar offers sweeping views over Patong Beach and the mountains behind. A solid cocktail menu, regular live music, and a relaxed upscale atmosphere make it the best elevated drinking spot in the Patong area. Much more civilized than Bangla Road, with the convenience of being walking distance from it.

Not a traditional rooftop, but a cliffside bar perched at the famous Kata-Karon viewpoint. Watch the sunset paint the three bays below in gold while sipping a cheap cocktail or cold beer. The vibe is backpacker-meets-sundowner with a fraction of the price of a resort rooftop. One of Phuket's most beloved sunset spots.

Night Markets: The Chill Alternative

Not a club person? Phuket's night markets offer a different kind of evening entertainment.

Sunday Only

Old Town Walking Street

Every Sunday, Thalang Road in Phuket Old Town becomes a vibrant night market with local food, crafts, and live music set against beautiful Sino-Portuguese architecture. The best evening experience outside of the bar scene.

Thu-Sat

Chillva Market

A trendy shipping-container market popular with local youth. Creative food stalls, craft drinks, vintage clothing, and live music. Less touristy and more authentic than tourist-oriented night spots.

Nightly

Malin Plaza Patong

Open every night near Jungceylon mall in Patong. Perfect for pre-Bangla Road snacking or as a relaxed evening alternative. Street food, fresh fruit shakes, and souvenirs at reasonable prices.

Essential Nightlife Tips

Make the most of your nights in Phuket with these practical tips.

Start at Sunset

Phuket's best nightlife begins with sunset drinks at a rooftop bar or beach club (5-7 PM), transitions to dinner (7-9 PM), and peaks at Bangla Road from 10 PM onward. Starting early means you experience the full spectrum.

Drink Prices on Bangla

Expect to pay 150-250 THB for beers and 250-400 THB for cocktails at Bangla Road bars. Prices are significantly higher than elsewhere in Phuket. Pre-game at your hotel or a 7-Eleven nearby to save money.

Avoid Drink Scams

Some bars use a 'menu price vs counter price' trick, quoting low prices to get you seated then charging more. Always check the menu before ordering and settle your tab frequently rather than running a big bill.

Use Grab, Not Tuk-Tuks

Tuk-tuks around Bangla Road charge inflated fares late at night (300-500 THB for short trips). Use the Grab app for fair, metered pricing. Book your return ride before you start drinking heavily.

Dress Code

Bangla Road bars have no dress code. Beach clubs require swimwear or resort casual. Rooftop bars like Baba Nest have a smart-casual policy (no tank tops or flip-flops). Clubs like Illuzion are relaxed but avoid beachwear.

Safety at Night

Phuket nightlife is generally safe but use common sense. Do not leave drinks unattended. Avoid riding motorbikes after drinking (the leading cause of tourist injuries). Keep valuables in your hotel safe. Walk in groups late at night.
